Full job description

Accounts Assistant

We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their accounting experience within a busy and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will assist with a wide range of finance duties, including:

Sales ledger functions, including:

Cash allocations
Credit control
Invoice and statement runs
Credit checks for new and prospective customers

Purchase ledger functions, including:

Posting purchase invoices and credit notes
Processing credit card purchases
Supplier reconciliations
Payment runs

Additional finance duties, including:

Maintaining cashbooks and bank reconciliations
Supporting cash flow management
VAT reconciliations
Assisting with monthly, quarterly, and year-end procedures
General finance and administrative duties as required by the business

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

A strong communicator with a positive and proactive attitude
Organised, methodical, and highly detail-oriented
Able to work independently and manage their own workload effectively
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate will have:

GCSE Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent)
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
Previous experience using a stock-based accounting system would be advantageous, although not essential

Pay: £24,500.00-£35,000.00 per year
