Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses along designated routes, adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and proper maintenance.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, school staff, and dispatchers to coordinate pick-up and drop-off schedules.
- Maintain a clean and well-maintained bus interior and exterior to promote a welcoming environment.
- Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of safety equipment and emergency procedures.
- Report any mechanical issues or safety concerns promptly to maintenance teams.
- Assist students with boarding and exiting the bus, ensuring their safety at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with passenger endorsement; prior driving experience preferred.
- Demonstrated mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle inspections and minor maintenance tasks.
- Experience as a delivery driver or in a similar driving role is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills in English to interact effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Proven ability to operate vehicles safely under various conditions with excellent driving skills.
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures and routine checks.
- A <PERSON> driver record free of major violations; commitment to safety is essential.
