Waiting Staff

Location: Carlyon Bay , St Austell , Cornwall , PL25 3RD

Salary: £12.71 per hour

Hotel: The Carlyon Bay Hotel

Deadline to apply: 20/09/2026

Hours per week: 45 Hrs per week - Split Shifts - Fully flexible including working weekends 7.30am - 12.30am Breakfast shift (30 min unpaid break) - 6pm - 1030pm evening shift

We do have live in accommodation with this role ( but it is not on site so you will need your own transport)

What will I be doing?

As a Restaurant Host The Carlyon Bay Hotel, you will work in a fast-paced, up-scale dining environment. Weekend and evening shifts are common and requires standing for extended periods and occasional lifting or moving of light objects.

Provide outstanding customer service to all guests from arrival to depature. Assist with any special requirements, deiterary or mobility restrictions, provide information on the hotel.

Manage reservations and seating arrangements effectively and efficiently, taking into consideration guests requirements and needs.

Effectively manage waiting lists during peak times, ensuring guests are kept informed about their table status and wait times.

Collaborate with the restaurant staff to create a welcoming and inviting atmosphere.Work closely with the restaurant manager, servers, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service flow, effective communication, and seamless guest experiences.

Promote menu items, beverages, and additional services to guests in a courteous manner, enhancing their dining experience while boosting restaurant revenue.

Hand cash and electronic payments accurately and following Brend Collection's financial procedures

Adhere to health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe environment for both guests and staff members

To successfully fill this role as Restaurant Host at The Carlyon Bay Hotel , you should maintain the attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow:

Previous experience in a host/hostess or front-of-house role

Exceptional customer service skills

Ability to handle payments

Knowledge of the restaurant menu and hotel offering

Exceptional organisational skills

Ability to work well in a team

Be self motivated and have the ability to prioritise tasks independently

Familiarity with health and safety regulations in a restaurant environment.
