Job summary
We are seeking to recruit Band 2 Administration Assistant who has a passion for high quality customer care to work within the Neurology Department. This is a full time role working days to be discussed at time of interview.
The successful applicant will provide comprehensive secretarial support to the current admin team, consultants, associate specialists, and other allied health professionals. We are looking for someone who can use their own initiative, work well with other people, be able to work on their own as well as being able to approach others for support. The right candidate will have excellent IT and typing skills.

Main duties, tasks & skills required
- Communicate with patients, colleagues, internal and external
- Deal with day to day correspondence,
- Receive telephone calls, accepting messages on behalf of members of the specialty team, taking appropriate action where necessary
- Prioritise own work efficiently and effectively, highlighting any issues to the Band 4
- Type all forms of clinical correspondence as dictated by medical staff, by use of audio or copy typing.

- Receive telephone calls and enquiries for the department, taking appropriate action, or, where necessary, re-direct or accept a
message on behalf of members of the specialty team.
- Type all forms of clinical correspondence.
- Working within set work patterns of specialty, prioritise own work efficiently and effectively to ensure all administrative duties are met,
highlighting any issues to a senior secretary.
- Receive correspondence related to patients. Prioritise documents as per specialty instruction and bring to attention of relevant
secretaries.
- Ensure the timely arrival of patient information to the appropriate destination to facilitate prompt patient care.
