We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Materials Planner to join our Planning team at our manufacturing site in Loughton, Essex. Reporting to the Supply Chain Planner, you’ll play a critical part in ensuring smooth and efficient production planning by coordinating materials, monitoring progress, and working cross-functionally to ensure that the processes are planned and product is delivered in a timely and efficient manner.
In this role, you will also be responsible for identifying potential problem areas and bottlenecks and will work across departments to minimise the impact of these. You will also manage the trial and project process, ensuring all information required is completed before handover to the Supply Chain Planner.

To ensure the production plan is realistic, reviewing all material meet the needs and optimise the resources of the business, which is agreed and accepted as achievable by Manufacturing.

Ensure all relevant requirements are raised and updated on existing ERP system.

Create forecast plans for peak demand periods and shutdown

Manage the inventory per production plan to reduce number of day’s stock held and increase inventory turnover.

To work closely with purchasing and supply chain to ensure the materials are on site to meet the production plan using the existing ERP system.

Raise all Material requisition forms and track all incoming materials, raising any issue where plan cannot be achieved.

To be proactive, hands on and pragmatic working closely with operations to monitor the progress against the plan, ensuring feedback on deviations are provided in a timely manner for adjustments to be made.

To monitor the progress of orders so ensuring all risks and issues (potential or otherwise) are addressed with the appropriate staff informed in a timely manner.

To continually develop the planning process to make it more visible, more automated and easier to update. To achieve this by working with IT and the other functions on site.

To provide support in scenario planning and the checking of production plan data

Maintain regular contact with central planning to support the trial and project process and ensuring sign off before going to the planner
Contract type: Permanent
Working hours: Days – 09:00 to 17:00 Mon- Fri with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break each day (37.5 hours per week)
Base Location: Debden, Essex
Basic Salary: £32,183 per annum. Upon successful completion of a 6-month probation period, this will rise to £32,867 per annum.
