Our Newham Learning & Skills is looking for an exceptional ESOL Curriculum Co-ordinator to lead and develop a thriving curriculum area, empowering adult learners to achieve their ambitions while inspiring and supporting a team of dedicated tutors.

About the Role
Reporting to the ESOL Curriculum Manager, you will support the strategic leadership and operational management of the curriculum area, contributing to the delivery of Our Newham Learning & Skills' priorities and wider cross-council initiatives.
You will lead the delivery of high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across accredited and non-accredited provision, ensuring an outstanding learner experience and positive outcomes. You will also lead the Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) process, ensuring all assessment and internal verification activities meet awarding body requirements, quality standards and service expectations.
Working closely with tutors, you will drive curriculum planning, quality improvement and performance, using data to improve attendance, retention, achievement and progression while supporting staff to continually develop their practice.
The role includes approximately 432 annual teaching hours , alongside curriculum leadership and quality assurance responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire a team of tutors and support staff to deliver outstanding teaching, learning and assessment.
- Develop innovative curriculum programmes that respond to learner, community and employer needs.
- Drive continuous quality improvement through lesson observations, coaching, mentoring and Internal Quality Assurance (IQA).
- Monitor performance data to improve attendance, retention, achievement and learner progression.
- Lead curriculum planning, examinations and assessment activities.
- Promote digital innovation, equality, diversity, safeguarding, Prevent and British Values across the curriculum.
- Recruit, induct, coach and develop teaching staff, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
Contribute to the strategic development of Our Newham Learning & Skills and support cross-service initiatives.

About You
We're looking for an experienced ESOL leader who is passionate about adult education, committed to raising standards and capable of inspiring others to deliver exceptional learning experiences.
You will have:
- A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS or Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training or equivalent).
- Relevant subject expertise, ideally educated to degree level or equivalent professional experience.
- Successful experience of teaching adult learners across a range of levels.
- Experience of leading curriculum delivery and managing teaching teams.
- Strong knowledge of quality assurance, curriculum development and the Education Inspection Framework.
- Experience of using learner performance data to drive continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills.

Additional Information
The successful candidate will be required to work flexibly across Learning & Skills centres, including occasional evenings and weekends, to meet service requirements.
