Overall Objectives
To generate profitable new business within the Healthcare sector by proactively identifying and converting sales opportunities, delivering high-quality, compliant advice and solutions, and building a sustainable pipeline through strong introducer and prospect relationships.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Proactively identify, qualify and progress new business opportunities within the Healthcare sector (including inbound and outbound leads) in line with agreed targets and sales processes.
- Manage and maintain an accurate sales pipeline, ensuring all activity, next steps and outcomes are recorded on company systems and progressed to agreed turnaround times.
- Conduct effective discovery/fact-finds, assess client needs and risk information, and design suitable insurance solutions that deliver fair value and good customer outcomes.
- Obtain and assess insurer terms, prepare and present clear recommendations and quotes, handle objections, negotiate where appropriate, and close sales in line with authority limits, procedures and FCA requirements; ensure effective handover to servicing where applicable.
Client Service & Relationship Management
- Build and develop a network of prospects and decision-makers, using consultative sales techniques to convert opportunities and identify appropriate cross-sell routes that meet customer needs and contribute to income targets.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key introducers, wholesalers and insurer contacts to generate leads, improve access to markets and support strong conversion outcomes.
- Provide an excellent experience for prospects and new clients, coordinating with insurers and internal teams to deliver responsive service throughout the sales journey.
- Respond to telephone and written enquiries promptly, arrange calls/meetings to progress opportunities, and maintain momentum through timely follow-up, aiming to achieve positive client feedback (including eKomi where applicable).
Administration, Systems & Record Keeping
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date pipeline records on company systems (including activity, stage, premium/income, and next actions) to support forecasting, management information and effective sales governance.
- Prepare and issue sales documentation within agreed timescales (e.g., market presentations, quotations, summaries of cover and recommendations), ensuring key terms and disclosures are clear, accurate and retained appropriately.
- Maintain electronic and hard‑copy files (including prospect information, lead source details and correspondence) in accordance with company procedures, FCA requirements and data protection legislation.
Commercial Awareness & Performance
- Deliver agreed new business KPIs, including activity levels, appointments, quote volume, conversion rate, new business income and profitability, ensuring outcomes are evidenced and delivered in a compliant manner.
- Maintain awareness of market conditions, insurer appetite and proposition changes relevant to Healthcare risks, using this knowledge to position solutions effectively and improve conversion.
- Identify and suggest improvements to the sales process, lead management, documentation and systems that enhance efficiency, quality, customer outcomes and compliance; support implementation of agreed changes.
