Responsibilities
- Operate welding equipment to join steel components with accuracy and consistency
- Use various hand tools and power tools to cut, shape, and assemble sheet metal and steel parts
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and assembly instructions to ensure precise fabrication
- Perform mechanical inspections of welded joints and assembled structures for quality assurance
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency during night shifts
- Utilize basic math skills to measure, mark, and verify dimensions during fabrication processes
- Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines while adhering to safety protocols
Skills
- Proficiency in welding techniques for steel assembly
- Experience with welding standards and practices
- Skilled in using hand tools such as grinders, pliers, chisels, and measuring devices
- Strong knowledge of fabrication processes involving sheet metal and structural steel
- Ability to operate power tools safely and effectively in a manufacturing setting
