£35,000 basic salary + commission – OTE £55,000

About Direct Vapes

Direct Vapes is a fast-growing wholesale business supplying vaping and related products to retailers across the UK and Ireland.

We already work with a strong portfolio of established customers and some of the largest operators within the sector, but we believe there is significant further opportunity within both our existing customer base and the wider Irish market.

As the business continues to grow, we are strengthening our commercial team and are looking for an experienced Senior Account Manager to take ownership of a portfolio of major customers across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

This is an opportunity to join a growing business at an important stage of its development, with plenty of scope for the successful person to build their accounts, increase their earnings and develop their career as the commercial team expands.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Chief Commercial Officer, you will be responsible for managing and growing some of Direct Vapes' largest and most strategically important customers.

This is not simply a relationship-maintenance role. We want someone who will understand each customer's business, identify where the opportunities are and actively develop plans to increase sales, product penetration and long-term account value.

Your responsibilities will include:

Managing a portfolio of major B2B and strategic customer accounts across Ireland.
Taking commercial ownership of sales and growth within your account base.
Building strong relationships with owners, directors, buyers and other key decision-makers.
Developing individual account growth plans.
Identifying opportunities to increase product range and customer spend.
Introducing new products and commercial opportunities to customers.
Conducting regular face-to-face customer meetings and account reviews.
Travelling extensively throughout Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
Reviewing sales performance and identifying opportunities or risks requiring action.
Negotiating commercial agreements within agreed parameters.
Working directly with the Chief Commercial Officer on key account strategy.
Coordinating with Procurement, Supply Chain, Marketing, Finance and the wider commercial team.
Maintaining accurate forecasts, account plans and sales opportunities.
Taking ownership of customer issues and ensuring they are resolved effectively.
Delivering agreed revenue, margin and account growth targets.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for an experienced commercial account manager who can demonstrate that they have successfully managed and developed important customer relationships.

You should have:

Strong B2B account management, key account management or field sales experience.
A proven track record of growing existing accounts.
Confidence dealing with owners, directors, buyers and senior decision-makers.
Strong commercial judgement and an understanding of both revenue and margin.
The ability to spot opportunities rather than simply respond to customer requests.
Strong negotiation and relationship-management skills.
A proactive and organised approach.
Confidence working independently and managing a large geographical territory.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Good numerical skills and the ability to interpret account performance.
The ability to operate effectively in a fast-moving and entrepreneurial business.

Experience within vaping, FMCG, wholesale, retail supply, convenience, tobacco alternatives or consumer goods would be advantageous, but is not essential.

Travel & Driving

This is an all-Ireland role and regular travel throughout Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland will be an important part of the position.

Applicants must:

Hold a full UK driving licence.
Have access to their own suitable vehicle for business use.
Be comfortable travelling regularly and spending significant time meeting customers face-to-face.

A fuel card and business mileage are provided.
