Veterinary Receptionist – The Village Veterinary Surgery, Hatfield Garden Village

We're a friendly, independent family-run veterinary practice that has been caring for pets and their owners since 1985 — and we're looking for a warm, organised, and enthusiastic Veterinary Receptionist to be the welcoming face of our team.

If you're a people person (and an animal person) who thrives in a busy environment and takes pride in delivering genuinely excellent service, we'd love to hear from you.

What you'll be doing

As the first point of contact for our clients, you'll play a vital role in making every visit feel as stress-free as possible — for pets and owners alike. Day to day, this includes:

Welcoming clients and their pets with a friendly, professional manner
Managing appointment scheduling and keeping our diary running smoothly
Handling phone and email enquiries about our services and pet care
Maintaining accurate client and patient records on our practice management system
Processing payments and billing with care and accuracy
Supporting our clinical team with basic laboratory preparation tasks when needed
Keeping the reception and waiting areas clean, tidy, and inviting
Sharing relevant pet care and wellness information with clients

What we're looking for

Previous experience in a veterinary or animal care setting is a real advantage
A confident, warm communicator who can put nervous clients at ease
Strong organisational skills and a cool head when things get busy
Comfortable using computer systems for scheduling and record keeping
A genuine love of animals and the people who care for them

Hours

Monday to Friday with a shared rota for weekend cover.

Job Type: Part-time
Part-time hours: 25 per week

Pay: £12.70-£12.80 per hour
