Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Shuttering Carpenter to join our construction team. This role involves the installation and removal of formwork for concrete structures, ensuring precision and safety on-site. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in carpentry, with additional skills in welding, masonry, and the use of hand and power tools. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work on diverse projects within a dynamic environment, contributing to the successful delivery of construction works. Responsibilities
- Construct, install, and dismantle formwork for concrete structures according to project specifications
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to ensure accurate formwork setup
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment safely and effectively
- Perform welding tasks as required for reinforcement or formwork assembly
- Assist with masonry tasks related to formwork support structures
- Conduct regular inspections of formwork for stability, alignment, and safety compliance
- Collaborate with other trades such as roofing, masonry, and mechanical teams to ensure seamless project progress
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times
Experience
- Proven experience as a Shuttering Carpenter or similar role within the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, materials, and safety practices
- Experience with welding, including the use of hand tools and power tools for fabrication and assembly
- Familiarity with masonry work and roofing systems is advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently over extended periods
- Mechanical knowledge relevant to construction equipment operation is desirable
- Valid commercial driving licence is a plus but not essential
- Prior experience working on large-scale commercial or industrial projects will be considered an asset
Pay: £230.00-£250.00 per day
