Trainee Mist Fire Engineer
Quenchfire is a friendly family expanding business ready to train additional engineers to install our successful Halo Fire Mist System into domestic & residential premises. Quenchfire is based at the Vinehall Business Centre just outside of Hastings.
The successful candidates will be joining a stable team and will be teaming up with more experienced engineers and as additional resource on larger sites. The role of a Trainee is ideal for someone coming into the industry for the first time.
As part of the team, you will:
- Liasing with clients/contractors
- Agreeing pipe runs and equipment locations.
- Work to schematic plan drawings as required.
- Assess, plan, measure, produce/install hydraulic pipework, pressure test, 2nd fix Halo suppression system and commission.
- Using hand tools & battery operated/power assisted equipment. Candidates with basic work tools is advantageous. Engineers are provided with specialist work tools for the role.
- Attend call outs/service works as required – fault finding, problem identification, problem solving and engineering resolutions.
Although experience is not essential, any previous experience with plumbing or electrical work is advantageous. A valid labourer CSCS card is also beneficial.
No qualifications required as all training and development will be provided. We are looking for someone who is hardworking, flexible, reliable, proactive, and competent with written and spoken communication.
Key aspects to the role of the Trainee Fire Mist Engineer are a strong work ethic, excellent attendance and punctuality and a commitment for self-development.
Fire Mist Engineers will come across plenty of opportunities to develop and increase their experience levels across a number of different projects. A full UK driving license is required due to covering a large area, and some projects may involve working away. In these events, accommodation is paid for and an additional payment is awarded per night away. Trainee’s are given a competitive salary and an opportunity to receive a year-end bonus in recognition of strong performance, positive conduct, and commitment to the business.”
The development of Trainees will be handled by regular appraisals and suitable training will be offered where appropriate to help and encourage development.
The progression path for a trainee Fire Mist Engineer is towards the position of Engineer. This will be made available in line with the business needs once they meet the minimum Engineer requirements.
