Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Chef/Kitchen Manager to lead our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, extensive culinary expertise, and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences. This role involves overseeing daily kitchen operations, managing staff, ensuring food safety standards, and maintaining high-quality food production in a fast-paced hospitality environment. The successful applicant will play a vital role in shaping our menu offerings and maintaining the organisation’s reputation for excellence.

Duties

Lead and supervise the kitchen team, including chefs, cooks, and kitchen assistants, ensuring smooth daily operations
Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to maintain high standards of quality, presentation, and consistency
Manage food production schedules to meet service times and minimise waste
Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations and hygiene standards
Develop innovative menus in collaboration with management, considering customer preferences and seasonal ingredients
Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock control to optimise costs
Train staff on proper cooking techniques, safety procedures, and customer service standards
Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment at all times

Skills

Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen setting
Extensive culinary experience with a strong background in food preparation and cooking techniques
Demonstrated team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff
In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene standards
Experience in food production within a hospitality or restaurant environment
Strong leadership qualities with excellent organisational skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
Good understanding of restaurant operations including serving procedures and customer service excellence
Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with team members and management
