Trainee Bus Driver

East Coast Buses – Musselburgh, Dunbar & North Berwick

£16.66 per hour (rising to £17.00) + Overtime

Start a new career as a Trainee Bus Driver with East Coast Buses - no prior bus experience required

With expert support from our in-house Training Team, you'll receive fully paid training and gain all the skills, knowledge and confidence needed to build a successful career behind the wheel.

We’re looking for friendly, reliable individuals to join our team and help keep Edinburgh and the Lothians moving. If you enjoy working with people and want a stable, rewarding career, we’d love to hear from you.

What We Offer

Paid training (5 weeks) to gain your PCV (Category D) licence
£16.66 per hour following the 5-week training period.
Rising to £17.00 per hour after 2 years
Overtime available at enhanced rates

The Role

As a Trainee Bus Driver, you will:

Build confidence and experience through our comprehensive in-house training programme, working towards becoming a fully qualified Bus Driver.
Drive our buses, ensure every journey is safe, reliable, and comfortable
Provide excellent customer service to passengers

Requirements

Full UK manual driving licence (held for at least 12 months)
Maximum 6 penalty points
A friendly and professional manner and good communication skills
A positive attitude and willingness to learn
Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends (5 week rolling rota)
