SWE Property Limited is seeking an experienced and reliable Plumber and Gas Engineer to join our growing multi-trade property maintenance and construction team.
The successful candidate will carry out plumbing, heating, and gas work across a range of residential and commercial properties. This may include installations, repairs, maintenance, refurbishment work, and fault finding.
Experience in air conditioning installation, servicing, or maintenance would be an advantage, but it is not essential. Experience working with LPG systems would also be beneficial, although applicants are not required to hold LPG qualifications.
As SWE Property offers a broad range of building, electrical, plastering, carpentry, groundwork, renovation, and property maintenance services, the role may occasionally involve supporting colleagues on wider projects. We would value someone with a flexible, team-focused attitude who is happy to get involved where appropriate and contribute to the smooth running of the job.
Any work outside the successful candidate’s own qualifications or competence would be carried out under the direction of the relevant qualified tradesperson. They would not be expected to undertake specialist or regulated work for which they are not suitably qualified.
Main Duties
- Install, repair, and maintain plumbing, heating, and gas systems
- Diagnose faults and carry out safe and effective repairs
- Install boilers, radiators, pipework, sanitary ware, taps, showers, heating controls, and associated equipment
- Carry out plumbing and gas work on renovations, refurbishments, extensions, and property maintenance projects
- Complete inspections and identify faults, safety concerns, or additional work required
- Read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and installation instructions
- Ensure all work complies with current Gas Safe requirements, building regulations, industry standards, and health and safety legislation
- Communicate professionally with customers, colleagues, subcontractors, and other trades
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used
- Keep work areas clean, safe, and organised
- Assist with air conditioning installation or maintenance where suitably qualified and experienced
- Undertake LPG-related work where suitably qualified and authorised
- Work collaboratively with other trades on larger or multi-skilled projects
- Provide practical support to colleagues where appropriate
- Work independently when required while also contributing positively to the wider team
Essential Skills and Experience
- Proven experience working as a plumber and gas engineer
- Current Gas Safe registration and relevant qualifications
- Strong knowledge of domestic plumbing, heating, and gas systems
- Ability to diagnose faults and carry out repairs safely and efficiently
- Good understanding of current regulations and industry standards
- High standard of workmanship and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage assigned jobs
- Strong problem-solving and organisational skills
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Reliable, punctual, and professional approach
- Full UK driving licence
- Positive and flexible approach to teamwork
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Experience in commercial plumbing or gas work
- Experience working on renovation, refurbishment, construction, or property maintenance projects
- Air conditioning installation, servicing, or maintenance experience
- Relevant air conditioning or F-Gas qualifications
- Experience or qualifications relating to LPG systems
- Experience supporting apprentices, labourers, or other team members
- Additional construction or property maintenance skills
