We are recruiting reliable cleaning and caretaking support to help keep our Magherafelt and Cookstown community premisesclean, safe, secure, and welcoming for staff, volunteers, service users, and community groups.
Role Details
Flexible role arrangement: These duties may be offered as one combined role across both Magherafelt and Cookstown, or as two separate roles, depending on the successful applicant’s availability, location, and ability to travel reliably between sites.
Magherafelt – Cleaner and Caretaker: Hours to be agreed, with regular weekly cleaning and caretaking duties linked to group bookings. This may include at least one evening per week and occasional weekend cover.
Cookstown – Cleaner: 3–4 hours per week, on Tuesday and Friday. Each shift will be approximately 1.5–1.75 hours and can be completed any time between 9.00 am and 4.00 pm.
Both premises include offices and drop-in facilities for adults with learning disabilities. Magherafelt also includes training rooms, meeting spaces, and kitchen facilities.
Key Responsibilities
· Carry out routine cleaning, including floors, toilets, kitchens, offices, meeting spaces, and communal areas.
· For the Magherafelt role, open, close, and secure the building for evening groups and occasional weekend bookings.
· Set up rooms for groups and activities, including tables, chairs, basic equipment, and simple hospitality when required.
· Keep rooms and shared spaces tidy, safe, hygienic, and ready for use.
· Report any maintenance, safety, security, or supply issues promptly.
Person Specification
We are looking for someone who is dependable, trustworthy, punctual, and able to work independently to a high standard. Applicants interested in the combined role must be able to travel reliably between Magherafelt and Cookstown.
· Good attention to detail and pride in maintaining clean, welcoming spaces.
· Able to follow cleaning, health and safety, safeguarding, and security procedures.
· Comfortable working in premises used by adults with learning disabilities and community groups.
· Able to use initiative and report issues clearly and promptly.

Pay is to be confirmed.
An AccessNI check may be required depending on the role duties and level of contact with service users. The successful applicantwill be expected to follow relevant safeguarding, confidentiality, health and safety, and building security procedures.
