Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children and safeguarding their future? We are seeking an experienced Deputy Service Manager to lead our Safeguarding teams in North Bristol, providing leadership and support to deliver high-quality services for children and families.

Role Overview:

As Deputy Service Manager, you will play a crucial role in modelling, developing and managing the Neighbourhood model of service for children and families.

You will be working closely with the Service Manager to ensure statutory duties for children and families are met; to support effective support and intervention for our families and children, supporting children to grow up in safe loving homes and achieve the best outcomes.

You will ensure the safeguarding of children and effective, timely intervention to create safety and change within family homes. Where children are unable to grow up safely with their primary carers you will support the teams to secure permanence for children within their timescales, prioritising kinship and family-based care as permanence options for children.

You will work with partners to develop services and appropriate multi agency responses to families and communities including police, health, education amongst others.

In addition to providing operational oversight and strategic development, you will support the Service Manager in managing budgets, workforce, and performance, while upholding the highest standards of practice.

Our neighbourhood model and our new specialist teams will enable our family support workers, key workers and social workers to have the recommended number of children allocated to them that will enable them to deliver intensive support whilst also being supported by our specialist teams when there is harm outside the home and or a child is at risk of needing to come into our care.

We are looking forward to building on the brilliant work our teams already do with children by expanding our services to create the conditions for our teams to feel supported, have the time they need to work intensively with children and families, access good training, feel psychologically safe and listened too, whilst experiencing healthy challenge to thrive in their roles in our joint vision with children and families.
