HEAD HOUSEKEEPER/CLEANER

The Company: Truscott Manor Care Home
Truscott Manor is a 39 bed nursing home in East Grinstead. Set in a traditional manor house, within acres of beautiful gardens, the home has a warm and friendly atmosphere, with a sense of family between the staff. Benefitting from an exceptional reputation within the area, we cater for elderly and frail residents with a varied dependency.
The Role:
· Ensure cleaning of all areas of the home are to the highest standard and in line with the policies of the home.
· Maintain the residents own rooms and possessions with care and respect.
· Maintain equipment and follow COSHH regulations for safe use of cleaning products.
· Ensure all duties are carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations.
· Report immediately any incident of ill-treatment, verbal, physical or mental, to the care home manager.
· Report any complaint made by residents, or on their behalf by relatives or friends, to the care home manager.
· Implement and maintain cleaning schedules for the entire home and ensure that they are adhered to.
· Conduct daily walkabouts and spot checks.
· Stock control and managing stock takes.
· Ensure rotas are completed and each shift is covered appropriately and at all times.
· Attend a department meeting monthly to ensure that regular communication of the home is passed onto the staff.
· Help new colleagues through induction process.
· Liaise with administrator/manager to make sure that we have the right equipment for the job.
· Interviewing and selecting, with the manager, all housekeeping staff.
· Build and maintain working relationships with staff and residents.
Requirements
· Experience within a care environment is desirable.
· Experience leading or managing a housekeeping or cleaning team.
· Excellent levels of customer service and good attention to detail.
· Knowledge of COSHH, Health and Safety and Infection Control and willingness to attend training.
· Ability to undertake a wide range of tasks associated with cleaning duties to a high standard.
· Ability to prioritise workload.
· Flexible to the needs of the service user.
· A safe and practical approach to work.
· Friendly, helpful and courteous and caring attitude.
· A well groomed and tidy appearance.
· Good timekeeping.
