Project Manager – Bespoke Machinery

A growing manufacturer of bespoke machinery and special purpose equipment is looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager to support continued growth and manage the successful delivery of customer projects from order intake through to final handover.
This is a highly visible position working closely with Design, Procurement, Manufacturing, Assembly and Customer teams, with responsibility for driving projects through the full lifecycle while ensuring delivery is achieved on time, within budget and to specification.
The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating cross-functional teams, managing customer relationships, mitigating project risks and ensuring the smooth delivery of bespoke machinery and engineered equipment projects.
Project Manager Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years' experience managing bespoke capital equipment, machinery or manufacturing projects
- Proven experience delivering bespoke machinery, special purpose machinery, automation systems or engineered equipment projects
- Strong understanding of manufacturing and production processes
- Experience managing projects through design, manufacture, build and delivery phases
- Excellent stakeholder management and customer communication skills
- Strong planning, organisational and prioritisation skills
- Commercial awareness with experience managing project costs and budgets
- Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams across technical and operational functions
- Proactive, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving ability
Project Manager Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of bespoke machinery projects from order intake through to final delivery
- Manage project schedules, budgets, resources and project performance
- Coordinate Design, Procurement, Assembly and Manufacturing teams throughout project delivery
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers and key stakeholders
- Monitor project progress and ensure delivery against agreed timelines and milestones
- Identify and manage project risks, issues and scope changes
- Support design reviews, build phases, factory acceptance testing and delivery activities
- Manage subcontractors and external suppliers where required
- Provide regular project updates and reporting to senior management
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, profitably and in line with customer requirements
