City of York Council are looking to appoint an experienced building surveyor to support the management of change to council buildings.
The role:
-
Working in an historic City with a varied portfolio of buildings
- Undertake Building Surveys, Dilapidation and Condition Surveys.
- Develop and manage projects from inception to building completion
- Liaising with building control and planning
- Submission of planning and building regulation applications
- Preparation of tender documents and Health and Safety information
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team
Essential Skill, Qualifications and Experience:

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a positive proactive approach to the role, and will be committed to delivering customer service excellence.
- Experience in a similar or related role within the construction industry
- Capable of running/managing their own projects and working within a team on larger projects
With:
-
Clear decision making in a timely manner based on facts and sound rationale
- High level of interpersonal and people management skills and attributes
- Highly literate and experienced with IT, in particular MS Office and ideally AutoCAD
- Proven ability to effectively communicate at all levels of management and teams
- Self-motivated with excellent planning and organisational ability
Must have experience in:

A similar role
- Interacting with clients and stakeholders at a senior level
- Detailed understanding of building regulations, legislation and standards
- Knowledge of H&S, listed buildings and party wall legislation within an estates built environment
Qualifications:

An accredited building academic qualification
