CNC Operator
IMAX Engineering Limited is a small, well-established CNC machine shop located in the scenic area of Malvern. We are looking for an experienced and reliable CNC Operator to join our team.
Role Overview
This is a hands-on CNC machining position, primarily working with 3-axis CNC milling machines using Fanuc controls. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting and operating machines, producing high-quality components to customer specifications, and maintaining a high standard of quality and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
· Setting and operating 3-axis CNC milling machines, primarily using Fanuc controls
· Loading and unloading components and tooling
· Setting work offsets, tool offsets and machine parameters
· Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
· Producing components to tight tolerances and customer specifications
· Inspecting own work using standard measuring equipment
· Monitoring machining processes and making adjustments where required
· Identifying and resolving basic machining and tooling issues
· Selecting and changing cutting tools as required
· Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working area
· Working efficiently to meet production targets and customer deadlines
· Supporting continuous improvement within the workshop
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience setting and operating CNC milling machines
- Experience with Fanuc-controlled machines preferred
- Good understanding of engineering drawings and tolerances
- Confident using measuring equipment such as micrometres, verniers and height gauges
- Good understanding of cutting tools, feeds and speeds
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking
- Proactive approach with a positive 'can-do' attitude
- Previous experience working with a variety of materials and components would be advantageous
Additional Information
- Work pattern: 4-day week, Monday to Thursday, 06:30 – 16:30
- Overtime opportunities available as required
- Full-time position
