Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Picker and Packer/Stores Person to join our warehouse team. This role involves handling materials, ensuring accurate stock management, and supporting shipping and receiving operations. The ideal candidate will have warehouse experience, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to perform heavy lifting safely. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop their skills within a dynamic manufacturing environment. Forklift license preferred.
Responsibilities
- Accurately pick items from stock based on order specifications.
- Pack products securely for dispatch, ensuring quality control standards are met
- Load and unload goods from lorries or containers, utilising appropriate forklifts when necessary
- Manage stock levels by stocking shelves efficiently and replenishing inventory as required
- Assist with shipping and receiving procedures, including documentation and inventory checks
- Operate forklifts and other mechanical handling equipment safely and effectively (training provided if needed)
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Conduct regular quality checks on products to ensure compliance with company standards
- Support warehouse management with stock organisation, cycle counts, and reporting discrepancies
Experience
- Previous experience in a warehouse environment is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Familiarity with materials handling equipment such as forklifts is advantageous
- Experience in shipping & receiving processes, picking & packing, and stock management is beneficial
- Mechanical knowledge or experience with handling heavy loads safely is a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently for extended periods
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in order fulfilment and stock control
Pay: £12.71-£14.00 per hour
