Switchboard Operator

Contract: Healthcare

Location: Worcester, WR5 1DD

Hours of work: 15

Working Pattern: Saturday & Sunday 22:00 - 06:00

Contract Type: Permanent

Hourly Rate: £16.26 - £19.06

Looking for a fulfilling role within a vital service? We are seeking a full-time Switchboard Operator to join the team at Worcestershire Royal Hospital.

In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring effective communication across the hospital, handling a high volume of calls (approximately 3,000+ per day) and connecting both internal and external callers, including emergency enquiries, to the appropriate departments.

The Role

Answer internal and external calls withing agreed KPI and SLA agreements
Provide efficient, courteous, and helpful support to callers
Operate internal bleep system
Proactively maintain the computer database of hospital personnel, departments and telephone numbers
Undertake any clerical duties deemed necessary in order to promote an efficient service at all times, and assist with the training of new members of staff when required to do so
Required to work public and bank holidays, should your shift fall on that day as our department operates 24/7, 365 days a year

About You

Important to have good communication and clerical skills
Be reliable and able to work well as part of a team,
Able to cope well under pressure
Previous experience would be preferred but not essential, full training will be given
