About The Royal Oak Hotel

The Royal Oak Hotel is a well-established town-centre hotel located on The Southend in the heart of Ledbury. The property combines guest accommodation, food and beverage facilities, event space and hospitality facilities, serving both overnight guests and the local community.

A Unique Opportunity

The Royal Oak Hotel has been closed for a period of time and is now preparing to relaunch under new management. This creates a rare opportunity for the successful candidate to play a pivotal role in bringing the business back to life.

Rather than stepping into a fully established operation, this role requires a manager who is excited by the challenge of building a business from the ground up, establishing operational standards, recruiting and developing teams, rebuilding the hotel's reputation and creating a destination that both locals and visitors want to return to.

This is an ideal opportunity for a commercially minded hospitality professional who enjoys taking ownership, driving change and seeing the direct results of their efforts.

The Role

The successful candidate will lead the reopening and ongoing operation of the hotel, with responsibilities including:

Supporting the launch and reopening strategy.
Recruiting, training and developing a high-performing team.
Establishing operational procedures and service standards.
Delivering exceptional guest experiences across all departments.
Managing daily hotel, food and beverage operations.
Driving occupancy, food and beverage sales and profitability.
Developing local business partnerships and community engagement.
Managing functions, meetings and events.
Ensuring compliance with all health, safety and licensing requirements.
Creating a culture of accountability, professionalism and hospitality excellence.

What We're Looking For

We are seeking a hands-on hospitality leader with strong commercial awareness, energy and ambition.

The ideal candidate will:

Have previous hotel, pub, restaurant or hospitality management experience.
Be comfortable leading a business through a launch or turnaround phase.
Possess strong leadership and people management skills.
Be highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
Have a passion for guest experience and service excellence.
Be proactive, resilient and capable of solving problems independently.
Understand how to grow revenue while maintaining operational standards.
