About Us

Jimmy's Killer Prawns is an award-winning seafood restaurant renowned for bold flavours, generous portions and exceptional hospitality. Our Manchester restaurant is one of the brand's flagship locations, serving a diverse customer base in a fast-paced environment.

We are looking for an experienced, passionate and driven Head Chef to lead our kitchen team. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring someone who thrives under pressure, leads by example and takes pride in delivering consistently outstanding food.

The Role

As Head Chef, you will be responsible for the overall operation of the kitchen, ensuring every dish meets our brand standards whilst maintaining excellent food safety, cost control and team performance.

You will work closely with the management team to develop the kitchen, train staff and deliver an exceptional guest experience every day.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage all day-to-day kitchen operations.
Ensure every dish is prepared and presented to brand specification.
Maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness, organisation and food safety.
Manage kitchen labour efficiently while maintaining service standards.
Recruit, train, develop and motivate the kitchen team.
Conduct regular training to improve consistency, speed and quality.
Manage stock ordering, stock rotation and inventory control.
Minimise food waste and maintain agreed GP targets.
Ensure all HACCP, food hygiene and health & safety procedures are followed.
Monitor equipment and arrange maintenance when required.
Work alongside management to improve systems and kitchen performance.
Deliver fast, efficient service during busy periods whilst maintaining quality.
Take ownership of kitchen culture, standards and accountability.

What We're Looking For

Proven experience as a Head Chef or an experienced Sous Chef ready to step up.
Strong leadership and people management skills.
Experience managing busy, fast paced restaurant kitchens.
Excellent knowledge of food safety and HACCP procedures.
Strong understanding of food costing, stock control and labour management.
Calm under pressure with excellent organisational skills.
High attention to detail and commitment to consistency.
Passion for developing and mentoring kitchen teams.
Flexible to work evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Essential Requirements

Level 3 Food Safety qualification (or willingness to obtain).
Previous experience leading a commercial kitchen.
Right to work in the UK.
