Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Warehouse and Office Assistant to support our operations through a combination of warehouse management and administrative duties. This role is ideal for someone organised, proactive, and eager to develop their skills within a dynamic environment. The successful candidate will be involved in materials handling, stock management, shipping and receiving, as well as providing essential administrative support to ensure smooth daily operations. This position offers valuable experience in warehouse procedures alongside office administration, making it suitable for individuals looking to expand their professional expertise.
Responsibilities
- Handling materials efficiently, including loading and unloading goods using appropriate equipment such as forklifts where necessary
- Managing stock levels through accurate picking, packing, and stocking of products
- Operating warehouse management systems to track inventory movement and maintain precise records
- Assisting with shipping and receiving processes to ensure timely dispatch and receipt of goods
- Conducting quality control checks to uphold product standards and minimise errors
- Performing mechanical tasks related to warehouse equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
- Supporting administrative duties such as filing, data entry, and organising documentation related to inventory and shipments
- Ensuring health and safety protocols are followed during all warehouse activities to maintain a safe working environment
- Assembly of certain product ranges
- Use of machinery
Experience
- Previous experience in a warehouse environment is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Familiarity with materials handling equipment such as forklifts is advantageous but not mandatory; certification or willingness to obtain certification is desirable
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems or similar software will be beneficial
- Practical understanding of shipping & receiving procedures, stock control, and order fulfilment processes
- Mechanical aptitude or experience with equipment maintenance is a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently, with physical stamina for extended periods of standing or moving around the warehouse floor
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in stock organisation and documentation management
Pay: £28,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
