Full job description

The Role: Blender - Health & Wellness

** No experience needed; full in-house training will be provided **

This is a great opportunity to join our Health & Wellness manufacturing team as a Production Blender, working on the manufacture of well-known protein and nutrition products for leading brands such as SCI-MX, Protein Dynamix, and many more. Following our recent acquisition of the well-known brand Slimfast, we are looking for motivated candidates with a positive, can-do attitude and a genuine eagerness to learn to join our growing team. This is an exciting time to come on board as we prepare to move across the road into our new, multi-million-pound, purpose-built manufacturing facility.

As a Blender, you will play a vital role in the production of our entire range of products. You will carefully weigh ingredients according to recipes, load and sieve powders in preparation for blending, operate and unload the blender, and ensure each production line is consistently supplied.

Start Date: ASAP
Location: The Hive, Unit 2 Beacon Road, Manchester, Trafford Park, M17
Days/Hours: Monday to Friday – Flexible to work 05:00 – 13:00 / 06:00 – 14:00
Salary: £30,913.68

Role and Responsibilities:

Production Blender Responsibilities:

1. Production & Processing

Operate food production machinery and equipment safely and efficiently
Follow production processes & procedures.
Meet work efficiently in safe manner to maximise outputs whilst maintaining quality.

2. Food Safety & Hygiene

Comply with food safety standards (HACCP, GMP, BRCGS, SALSA, etc.)
Always maintain high personal hygiene standards
Prevent cross-contamination.
Report any food safety risks or contamination immediately

3. Quality Control

Carry out quality checks (weight, appearance, labelling)
Record production and quality data accurately
Identify and report non-conforming products
Support continuous improvement and corrective actions

4. Health & Safety

Follow health and safety policies and safe systems of work
Use PPE correctly and report damaged or missing PPE
Identify hazards and report accidents or near misses
Participate in safety briefings and training

5. Cleaning & Housekeeping

Clean work areas, equipment, and tools according to cleaning schedules
Follow COSHH procedures for cleaning chemicals
Maintain a tidy and organised workstation
Support deep cleaning and hygiene audits

6. Equipment & Machinery

Set up, operate, and shut down machinery safely
Perform basic equipment checks and routine maintenance
Report faults, breakdowns, or abnormalities promptly
Avoid misuse or unauthorised adjustment of equipment

7. Documentation & Records

Complete production, quality, and traceability records accurately
Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Ensure compliance with audit and legal requirements
Maintain confidentiality of company information

8. Teamwork & Communication

Work effectively as part of a production team
Communicate clearly with supervisors and colleagues
Support new starters and follow line-leader instructions
Participate in team meetings and continuous improvement initiatives

9. Flexibility & Continuous Improvement

Be flexible to work across different production areas if required
Support efficiency, waste reduction, and sustainability initiatives
Engage in training and skills development
Contribute ideas to improve safety, quality, and productivity
