Based in Denton, Manchester, Alfafado Ltd has been supplying specialist batteries, chargers and related products throughout the UK since 2009. We are proud of our reputation for excellent customer service, fast dispatch and accurate order fulfilment, and we are looking for another Warehouse Operative to help us continue delivering that standard.

The Role
As a Warehouse Operative, you will play a vital role in ensuring customer orders are picked, packed and dispatched accurately and efficiently.
You will also assist with receiving deliveries, stock replenishment, inventory management and maintaining a clean, organised and safe warehouse.
This is an active role where you will spend much of the working day on your feet, working as part of a supportive team where reliability, accuracy and a willingness to help are highly valued.
Full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately picking customer orders
- Packing orders safely and efficiently for dispatch
- Preparing completed orders for courier collection
- Moving packed orders to the appropriate dispatch cages
- Receiving deliveries and checking incoming goods
- Counting and booking goods into stock
- Putting stock away into the correct warehouse locations
- Replenishing picking locations from reserve stock
- Assisting with regular stock counts and annual stock takes
- Organising mixed pallets ready for storage
- Operating cardboard recycling and packaging equipment
- Operating a forklift truck where trained and authorised
- Maintaining high standards of productivity, quality and accuracy
- Helping to keep the warehouse clean, tidy and safely organised
- Following all company Health & Safety procedures

Desirable
- Previous warehouse experience
- Picking and packing experience
- Experience using warehouse management systems or handheld scanners
- Forklift truck licence
Full training will be provided, so previous warehouse experience is not essential.
Physical Requirements
This is an active role involving continual walking and standing throughout the working day.
The role includes regular lifting, carrying, bending, stretching, kneeling and crouching, together with the use of kick-steps and short ladders.
Applicants should be comfortable carrying out these activities safely throughout their shift.
Working Hours
Normal working hours are generally:
Monday to Friday
9:00am – 5:00pm
The role is contracted for 37.5 hours per week.
Peak Season Overtime
One of the biggest benefits of joining Alfafado is the opportunity to earn additional income during our busiest trading period.
Between October and January, we regularly offer paid overtime to help us manage increased customer demand.
Many members of our team choose to take advantage of these additional hours to significantly increase their earnings before Christmas.
Additional overtime opportunities may include:
- Extra weekday hours
- Earlier starts or later finishes
- Weekend shifts during particularly busy periods
- Supporting increased Christmas and seasonal order volumes
Overtime requirements vary according to business demand, but we always aim to provide as much notice as reasonably possible and, wherever practical, offer overtime on a voluntary basis.
Holiday Entitlement
- 28 days' holiday per year, including Bank Holidays
- Holiday availability is significantly more limited between October and January
- Employees are encouraged to take the majority of their annual leave outside the peak trading period
