Sushi Commis Chef – Chotto Matte Manchester
Up to £15.21 per hour inclusive of tronc

Chotto Matte is a globally recognised Japanese-Peruvian fusion restaurant group with locations in London, Riyadh, San Francisco, Toronto, and Manchester/ Our venues are immersive spaces where vibrant cuisine meets energetic beats, offering guests a unique and engaging dining experience.

We’re now on the lookout for a Sushi Commis Chef who is looking to progress their career in a fast-paced kitchen.

Role Overview:

As a Sushi Commis Chef, you will be responsible for working in your allocated sushi prep section. Your role will be pivotal to the delivery of food service and ensuring the kitchen team has everything they need to serve all sushi menu items.

Key Responsibilities:

· Prepare and garnish all food correctly, following the menu and making sure it looks good on the plate

· Set up the kitchen for service, make sure enough food is prepped and ready

· Follow company standards for food quality, recipes, portions, seasoning, and presentation

· Make sure all dishes are sent out on time and work closely with the chefs and team

· Follow all food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness rules, and report any hazards immediately

· Keep accurate records, stay ready to support your section, and carry out any tasks given by senior chefs

Requirements

Previous experience as a Sushi Commis Chef or Commis Chef in a premium or high-volume restaurant
A good foundation of cooking skills and eagerness to learn more
Ability to stay calm and efficient in a fast-paced environment
Genuine passion for food, hospitality, and delivering excellent guest experiences
Team-oriented, reliable, and motivated with a growth mindset
