What the Role Offers

Dental Triage Nurses provide telephone clinical advice to patients aged 5+ with urgent dental problems, responding to calls from NHS 111.

Pay Rates
- In Hours: £15.68/hr, Mon–Fri 08.00–18.00
- Out of Hours: £16.68/hr, Mon–Fri 18.00–08.00 and weekends

- Bradley Contact Centre, Huddersfield, HD2 1GQ
- Lexicon Contact Centre, Leeds, LS7 2BQ (training may be at Bradley)

About You

Essential Criteria

Qualifications

Dental Nurse or other Dental Professional currently registered with the General Dental Council, with at least 2 years’ post-registration experience.

Experience

Experience of working in a primary or secondary dental care setting.
Evidence of continuing personal/professional development.

Skills and Knowledge

Effective communication skills, including verbal, written and non-verbal communication.
Good assessment and decision-making skills.
Self-motivated team worker.
Understanding of primary and secondary dental care services.
Able to manage time and workload in order to meet performance standards.
Good keyboard and PC skills.

Desirable Criteria

Qualifications

Additional qualifications relevant to primary dental care.

Experience

Experience of telephone triage.
Experience of using NHS Pathways and DOS.
Experience of working in an urgent dental care or Community Dental Service setting.

Skills and Knowledge

Aware of the impact of change on self, the team and the service.
Up-to-date knowledge of the health agenda, both local and national.
Understanding of how to deal with difficult or vulnerable patients.
Previous experience in relation to the NHS 111 dental patient pathway.
