Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Shift Manager to oversee daily operations within our busy hospitality environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive experience in food preparation and service, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences. This role involves supervising staff, ensuring food safety standards are maintained, and managing the smooth running of shifts to uphold our high standards of quality and efficiency.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of restaurant or hospitality staff during assigned shifts, ensuring team members perform their roles effectively.
- Oversee food preparation and cooking processes, maintaining high standards of quality, presentation, and safety.
- Manage the daily operations of the kitchen and service areas, including overseeing food production and ensuring timely delivery of orders.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards across all areas of operation.
- Lead by example in delivering excellent customer service, supporting staff in serving guests with professionalism and courtesy.
- Organise staff schedules, delegate tasks efficiently, and monitor performance to optimise productivity.
- Handle customer complaints or concerns promptly to maintain high levels of guest satisfaction.
- Assist in training new team members and ongoing development of existing staff to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Maintain accurate records related to inventory, safety checks, and operational procedures.
Experience
- Proven supervisory experience within a restaurant or hospitality setting is essential.
- Extensive background in food preparation, cooking, and food safety management.
- Experience in managing teams within fast-paced environments such as restaurants, hotels, or bars.
- Knowledge of culinary techniques, food production processes, and kitchen operations is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with hospitality standards including serving practices and customer service excellence.
- Previous experience working in a restaurant or hotel environment will be advantageous.
- Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate teams and manage multiple priorities effectively.
