Self-Employed Removal Operator / Owner-Driver – London
Movesmith is building a network of professional, independent removal operators for customer moves across London.
This is not an employed driving position and there are no guaranteed hours or jobs. You remain self-employed, choose which available jobs to accept and see the fixed operator payout and full job details before committing. There are no lead fees, listing fees or monthly subscription fees.
Gross operator payouts
The advertised £344–£984 per booked day is an estimated gross operator-business payout based on completing one booked 1–3-bedroom move.
Current examples include:
- 1-bedroom flat from £344.40 gross operator payout
- 2-bedroom house from £615
- 3-bedroom house from £902
- Multi-floor 3-bedroom house from £984
Smaller single-item jobs can pay from £61.50 and larger moves may pay more. These figures are gross payouts before your own fuel, vehicle, crew, insurance, tax and other business costs. Job availability and earnings are not guaranteed. Applicable road charges identified on a booking are passed through to the operator separately in full.
What you will do
- Review available London removal jobs and accept only those that suit your vehicle, crew, location and availability
- Arrive within the agreed collection window
- Load, protect, transport and unload customers’ belongings carefully
- Communicate professionally with customers and Movesmith Operations
- Follow the confirmed booking scope and record completion evidence
- Keep your vehicle, insurance and compliance documents current
Essential requirements
- You operate as a genuine self-employed removal business or sole trader
- Your own roadworthy van suitable for removal work
- A valid UK driving licence for every driver
- Appropriate hire-and-reward motor insurance
- Goods in Transit insurance
- Public Liability cover of at least £1 million
- A reliable smartphone and ability to use the Movesmith supplier portal
- Professional customer service and safe manual-handling standards
- Permission for Movesmith to verify the information and documents supplied
Removal experience, a Luton van and the ability to provide a two-person crew are particularly valuable, but other suitable van and crew configurations may be considered.
Verification
Applicants complete Movesmith’s supplier onboarding and verification before becoming eligible for customer jobs. We will confirm your vehicle, crew capacity, suitable job types, insurance, identity and operating documents. Passing the initial application does not itself guarantee approval or work.
