Furniture Fitter / Installer I Design Furniture — Oakham, Rutland Mainly on-site at schools & universities | £15+ per hour DOE | Full-time About the Role We're looking for a reliable and skilled Furniture Fitter to join our team at I Design Furniture. This role is mainly site-based, installing bespoke furniture at schools and university buildings across the region, working from our Oakham workshop when not on site — preparing installs and assisting with manufacturing. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in quality craftsmanship and finished results, and is happy travelling to different sites. Key Responsibilities - Fitting and installing furniture on-site at schools and university buildings - Scribing fitted furniture to walls, floors and ceilings for a precise, professional finish - Assembling and finishing furniture to a high standard - Loading, transporting and delivering furniture safely between the workshop and site - Carrying out quality checks and resolving any fitting issues on site - Working professionally and safely on occupied school and university premises - Working in our Oakham workshop when not on site — preparing installs and assisting with manufacturingWhat We're Looking For - Full, clean UK driving licence (essential — daily travel to site) - Must meet the requirements of our fleet vehicle insurance - Experience fitting furniture and scribing to walls/floors for a neat, tight finish - Practical, hands-on approach with good attention to detail - Reliable, punctual and happy working both independently and as part of a team - Comfortable with manual handling and physical work - Workshop / joinery experience useful but not essential — full training provided, including on our large range of CNC machinery As this role involves working on occupied school and university premises, the successful applicant will be required to complete an Enhanced DBS check (arranged and paid for by us). Pay & Hours £15 + per hour, depending on experience, plus workplace pension and paid holidays. Full-time, mainly working on-site at schools and university buildings.
