What Will You Be Doing as an Assistant Leakage Technician (Shared Supply Smart Metering)?
As an Assistant Leakage Technician, you will play a vital role in helping Anglian Water reduce leakage across our network and support customers in identifying and resolving leaks on their properties.
Working within our newly established Customer Side Leakage team, you'll survey properties with shared water supplies, collect and record network information, and install smart meters on suitable assets. You'll work closely with customers, landlords, housing providers, and internal teams to arrange appointments, complete surveys, and identify potential leakage issues.
This is a field-based role where no two days are the same. You'll spend much of your time outdoors, travelling across the region, working directly with customers and helping us deliver our goal of achieving world-leading leakage performance while providing a first-class customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct shared supply surveys across customer properties and accurately collect asset and network information
- Install smart water meters on suitable customer supplies in accordance with approved procedures and water hygiene standards
- Communicate with customers, landlords, housing associations, and other stakeholders to arrange appointments and explain survey outcomes
- Identify and report potential customer-side leaks and escalate findings to the relevant teams
- Deliver excellent customer service at every interaction, keeping customers informed throughout the process
- Work collaboratively with leakage teams, schedulers, analysts, project managers, and customer contact teams
- Accurately record all work activities, survey findings, and customer interactions using company systems including Oracle and SAP
- Ensure all job notes, records, and work management information are completed to a high standard
- Follow safe systems of work and adhere to all water quality, hygiene, and health and safety procedures
- Support business incidents and operational priorities when required

A Little Bit About Your Skills, Experience, and Behaviours…
- Experience within utilities, construction, field operations, or a similar environment
- Full UK driving licence is essential
- Good level of IT literacy and confidence using handheld devices and operational systems
- Customer service experience and a passion for delivering excellent service
- Comfortable travelling throughout the region using a company vehicle
- Physically fit and able to carry equipment, undertake lifting activities, and work outdoors regularly
- Ability to read maps, plans, and network information (training provided)
- Strong written and numerical skills with attention to detail when recording information
- Able to manage risk and make sensible decisions in a dynamic operational environment
- Driven, self-motivated, and eager to learn new skills and technologies
