Full job description

We are seeking a motivated, organised, and enthusiastic Purchasing Apprentice to join our fast-growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a career in procurement, supply chain, or business administration while gaining valuable hands-on experience in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Working alongside our experienced Procurement Specialists, you'll develop a strong understanding of purchasing processes, supplier management, stock control, and business systems while contributing to the smooth operation of our purchasing function.

About the Role

As a Purchasing Apprentice, you will support the Procurement Team in ensuring products are sourced efficiently, stock levels are maintained, and customer requirements are met. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to learn all aspects of purchasing and supply chain operations within a thriving business.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Assisting Procurement Specialists with creating reports for ordering, stock management, and monitoring purposes.
Carrying out purchasing-related system processes, including tracking stock in transit, receiving goods into stock, and processing supplier invoices.
Liaising with the Sales Team regarding backorder enquiries, quotations, product pricing, and lead times.
Assisting with product creation and maintenance within our MRP system, ensuring product information is accurate and up to date.
Supporting the management of stock levels across multiple locations and arranging stock transfers where required.
Maintaining accurate records and ensuring purchasing data is correctly recorded within company systems.
Building effective working relationships with internal teams and suppliers.
Supporting other members of the procurement team and assisting with additional tasks as required.

Good numerical and analytical skills.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
Positive, proactive attitude with a willingness to learn.
Confident using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
Team player with a professional and approachable manner.
Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable (but not essential):

Previous experience in an office, administration, retail, customer service, or warehouse environment.
An interest in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or business operations.

Terms & Conditions of Employment:

Working Hours: This is a full-time role based on a 40-hour working week. Standard hours are 8:30am to 5:30pm, Monday to Friday, with a one-hour lunch break.
