Spire Cardiff Hospital is looking for an experienced and motivated Bank Pharmacist to join our hardworking Pharmacy team.

About the Role
As a Bank Pharmacist, you will provide a high-quality clinical pharmacy service across wards, theatres, and outpatient services, supporting patients throughout their healthcare journey.
You will work closely with consultants, nurses, and healthcare professionals to ensure medicines are used safely, effectively, and in line with best practice standards. Your expertise will be instrumental in maintaining regulatory compliance, promoting patient safety, and supporting the delivery of outstanding healthcare services.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide an exemplary pharmacy service in line with current legislation, professional standards, and clinical requirements
- Perform clinical screening and review of prescriptions to ensure safe and effective medicines use
- Offer expert advice to consultants, clinicians, and patients regarding medication management
- Support the safe procurement, storage, supply, and administration of medicines throughout the hospital
- Promote safe medicines management and contribute to patient safety initiatives
- Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to deliver outstanding patient care
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, governance processes, and professional standards
- Contribute to service improvement initiatives and the ongoing development of pharmacy services
- Maintain accurate patient records and pharmacy documentation
- Support colleagues and share clinical knowledge to promote best practice across the hospital
Contract: Bank
Days/Hours: Monday – Friday 08:30 – 17:00 and Saturday 08:30 – 17:00, on a flexible bank basis
Who we're looking for:
- Qualified Pharmacist with current GPhC registration and no restrictions on practice
- Previous hospital pharmacy experience (minimum two years desirable)
- Experience working within a clinical pharmacy environment
- SAP experience desirable but not essential
- Strong clinical knowledge and sound professional judgement
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A compassionate, patient-focused approach to care
- Reliable, organised, and able to work independently when required
- A positive team player who enjoys working collaboratively with colleagues across the hospital
