Team LeaderAbout the Role
We're looking for an experienced, confident and motivated Team Leader to help lead our front of house team and deliver exceptional customer experiences every single day.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll be responsible for leading shifts, motivating the team, maintaining high standards and ensuring the café operates smoothly from open to close. You'll work closely with both the management and kitchen teams to create a positive, efficient and high-performing environment.
This role is ideal for someone who naturally leads by example, thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment and enjoys bringing out the best in others.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 3 years' hospitality experience in a busy café, restaurant or hospitality venue.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience.
- Strong leadership skills with the confidence to delegate and direct a team.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Outstanding customer service and problem-solving abilities.
- Calm under pressure with the ability to make decisions confidently.
- Flexible to work weekends, bank holidays and busy seasonal periods.
Key ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership
- Lead and manage the front of house team throughout each shift.
- Delegate tasks effectively and ensure the team are working efficiently.
- Motivate, coach and support team members to achieve high performance.
- Lead by example through professionalism, positivity and a strong work ethic.
- Ensure every team member understands their responsibilities and is working to the expected standard.
- Support the onboarding and training of new team members.
Customer Experience
- Deliver exceptional customer service at every opportunity.
- Handle customer enquiries, concerns and complaints professionally and confidently, always aiming to resolve issues positively.
- Ensure every customer feels welcomed, acknowledged and valued.
- Maintain the warm, friendly atmosphere that Signature Strawberries is known for.
Communication & Service
- Communicate effectively with both the front and back of house teams to ensure smooth service.
- Work closely with the kitchen to manage ticket times, customer expectations and service flow.
- Ensure accurate communication regarding wait times, menu availability and any service updates.
- Keep management informed of any issues requiring further support.
Operational Standards
- Oversee the day-to-day running of the café during your shift.
- Ensure all opening, closing and daily operational procedures are completed correctly.
- Maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness, presentation and organisation throughout the venue.
- Ensure health & safety and food hygiene procedures are always followed.
- Monitor the café floor, anticipating customer and operational needs before they become issues.
