The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has become available for a General Operative to join our team at the Lee Moor site, working across the secondary processing operation. This is a permanent, full-time position working Monday to Friday, 06:30–16:30, offering the chance to develop your skills across fixed plant operations and mobile plant equipment including Loading Shovels and Rigid Dump Trucks.
This is a hands-on role within a supportive team environment where safety, quality and continuous improvement are central to daily operations. Whether you already hold experience operating one piece of plant equipment or have worked within a similar industrial environment, full training can be provided across additional machinery and processes. If you enjoy practical work, problem-solving and being part of a collaborative operation, this could be an excellent next step in your career.
What You'll Be Doing
Operating mobile plant equipment including Loading Shovels and Articulated Dump Trucks safely and efficiently, carrying out daily safety inspections before use
Supporting the operation of fixed production plant and assisting with production activities across the site
Monitoring product quality, dispatching materials and ensuring production records and plant logs are accurately maintained
Maintaining high housekeeping standards across plant areas, equipment and surrounding workspaces to ensure a safe and tidy environment
Responding promptly to operational issues and breakdowns, working closely with site management and maintenance teams to minimise downtime
Who you are
You have previous experience within a similar industrial, quarrying, production or heavy plant environment
You work well as part of a team and communicate effectively with colleagues across site operations
You are organised, reliable and able to work efficiently within a fast-paced production environment
You take pride in maintaining high safety and housekeeping standards and approach tasks with a proactive attitude
