Job Summary - Farming Environment
We are seeking a dedicated Gardener/Handyman/woman to maintain and enhance outdoor spaces, ensuring they are both functional and aesthetically pleasing. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for gardening and landscape maintenance, with practical skills in using various tools and equipment. This role offers an opportunity to work outdoors in a dynamic environment, contributing to the upkeep of gardens, lawns, and other landscaped areas.
Responsibilities
- Perform general gardening duties including planting, pruning, weeding, and lawn care
- Operate hand tools such as spades, shears, and rakes to maintain garden beds and lawns
- Use power tools for tasks like edging, hedge trimming, and aeration
- Manage irrigation systems to ensure proper watering schedules and repairs when necessary
- Conduct landscape maintenance activities to preserve the visual appeal of outdoor spaces
- Carry out minor repairs around the property, including fixing fences or garden structures
- Assist with seasonal planting and fertilisation programmes
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas and ensure safety procedures are followed at all times
Experience
- Proven experience in gardening, horticulture or landscape maintenance is highly desirable
- Familiarity with the use of hand tools and power tools for outdoor work
- Growing experience or knowledge of plant care and garden design is advantageous
- Practical understanding of irrigation systems and their maintenance
- Previous handyman or general maintenance experience is beneficial but not essential
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while adhering to safety standards
