Full job description

Shop Assistant x 2

We are looking for two dynamic people with good customer service and interpersonal skills to join our team at Catherine’s Bakery Newport. Do you knead a new challenge? Could you be the icing on our cake?. Come join the team!

24 and 14 hours per week Monday to Saturday with days off during the week, however we are looking for people who are flexible to cover for holidays and sickness.

Responsibilities:
- Assist customers with their inquiries and provide excellent customer service
- Maintain a clean and organized shop environment
- Stock shelves and replenish as needed
- Operate the cash register and handle transactions accurately
- Complete basic food preparation tasks
- Assist in receiving and unpacking shipments
- opening up and closing down of the shop

Skills:
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Basic understanding of retail maths
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Basic Food Hygiene certificate is desirable but not essential as there will be an opportunity to achieve this.
