Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Kindergarten Teacher to oversee and deliver high-quality early childhood education within our vibrant nursery setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a nurturing environment that promotes learning, development, and wellbeing for young children. Duties
- Lead and supervise a team of nursery staff, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure effective teamwork and high standards of care.
- Plan, develop, and implement age-appropriate educational programmes that stimulate children's development across all areas including social, emotional, physical, and cognitive skills.
- Monitor and assess children's progress regularly, maintaining detailed records in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Foster strong relationships with parents and guardians through regular communication regarding children's progress and well-being.
- Organise daily activities, outings, and special events that enhance learning experiences and promote community engagement.
- Ensure the nursery environment is safe, clean, organised, and conducive to learning at all times.
- Manage administrative tasks such as attendance records, lesson planning documentation, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Promote inclusive practices that respect diversity and encourage positive behaviour among children.
- Maintain current knowledge of early childhood education best practices through ongoing professional development.
Skills
- Proven management and leadership abilities within an early childhood or childcare setting.
- Extensive experience working with children in nursery or preschool environments.
- Strong understanding of child development principles and early childhood education frameworks.
- Excellent communication skills in English to effectively liaise with children, parents, staff, and external agencies.
- Organisational skills with the ability to plan effectively and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
- Childcare qualifications recognised within the UK (e.g., Level 3 Childcare Qualification or higher).
- Ability to demonstrate patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach towards young children.
- Valid driving licence is desirable for organising outings or home visits when necessary.
