Full job description

Full-Time Permanent Floor Layer Required

Family-run flooring business based in Darlington is looking for an experienced full-time floor layer to join our team. Work will be carried out in Darlington and surrounding areas.

Duties include:

Measuring and cutting flooring materials to fit specific areas
Preparing surfaces by removing old flooring, repairing any damage, and preparing sub-floors with screed where required
Installing and securing flooring materials including sheet vinyl, LVT, safety flooring, and other types of flooring
Using hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently
Applying adhesives and bonding agents to secure flooring materials
Trimming excess material and leaving work areas clean and tidy after completion

Skills and requirements:

Previous flooring installation experience essential
Experience with sub-floor preparation and screeding preferred
Confident using hand tools and power tools for cutting, trimming, and fitting flooring
Strong attention to detail and a high standard of workmanship
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Full UK driving licence essential - Company Van Provided
