Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Athletics Coach with an enhanced DBS to lead our afterschool club programme. The successful candidate will be responsible for organising and delivering engaging sports activities that promote physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship among children. This role offers an excellent opportunity to inspire young learners through sport, fostering their development in a supportive environment. The position is paid and suitable for individuals passionate about coaching and teaching children.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver a variety of sports activities tailored to different age groups and skill levels
- Encourage participation, teamwork, and fair play among children during sessions
- Ensure the safety of all participants by adhering to health and safety guidelines at all times
- Monitor and assess children's progress, providing positive feedback and encouragement
- Maintain organised equipment and ensure the sports area is clean and safe after each session
- Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and school staff regarding programme updates or concerns
- Promote a fun, inclusive environment that motivates children to develop their sporting abilities
Qualifications
- Prior experience in sports coaching or teaching children is highly desirable + enhanced DBS
- Strong knowledge of various sports and physical activities suitable for young learners
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and engage children
- Organised with the ability to plan sessions effectively and manage group dynamics
- Passionate about promoting health, fitness, and positive social values through sport
- Ability to work flexibly during afterschool hours in accordance with programme schedules

Pay: £18.00-£25.00 per hour
