To help us recruit social workers who are committed to working in Middlesbrough we are currently offering a 10% supplement to social work salaries. This additional 10% will be reviewed at the end of March 2027.
Are you an experienced Social Worker with a passion for safeguarding adults? We have an exciting opportunity to join our newly established Adult Access and Advice team, where you will play a key role in ensuring safeguarding concerns are responded to quickly, effectively and proportionately.
At Middlesbrough Council, safeguarding is everyone’s business. Our practice is underpinned by the policies and procedures of the Teeswide Safeguarding Adults Board (TSAB) and a commitment to protecting adults with care and support needs from abuse and neglect.
Working as the front door of Adult Social Care, you will be responsible for screening safeguarding concerns, applying safeguarding thresholds, assessing risk, and providing advice and guidance to professionals, residents, and team members. You will also help ensure a seamless pathway between safeguarding concerns received by the team and the wider Safeguarding team.
We are looking for a qualified Social Worker with at lease 2 years’ post-qualifying experience, including experience of safeguarding enquiries and leading safeguarding investigations. You will have strong decision-making and risk management skills, be able to prioritise competing demands, and enjoy working in a fast-paced, supportive environment.
In return, we offer excellent learning and development opportunities, support through our Adult Social Care Academy, a comprehensive induction programme, and the chance to be part of an innovative and welcoming team.
Essential Requirements:
- Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
-
Minimum 2 years’ post-qualifying experience.
-
Experience of safeguarding enquiries and investigations.
-
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
