We are seeking a committed and highly organised Coroners Administrator to join our team at Middlesbrough Town Hall.
In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive administrative support to His Majesty’s Coroners Officers. You will play an essential part in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the office, assisting with the investigation process and supporting the preparation and scheduling of inquests.

- Work closely with Coroners Officers, hospitals, legal professionals, pathologists, funeral directors and partner agencies.
- Support investigations into reported deaths and assist with preparing cases for inquest.
- Develop specialist knowledge in coronial processes, legal documentation and case management.

What we are looking for

- Experience working in a busy administrative or office environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office and IT systems.
- Experience handling sensitive or confidential information.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands.
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Important information
Due to the nature of the role, successful applicants will be regularly exposed to sensitive, distressing and sometimes traumatic material. Experience supporting vulnerable people, dealing with bereaved families or working with sensitive information would be advantageous.
