Salary: Up to £34,225 per annum
Annual Leave: 30 days per annum plus statutory Bank Holidays
Hours: 37 hours per week

The Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assessor to join our team, supporting learners to achieve their full potential through high-quality training and assessment. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering apprenticeship programmes, managing a caseload of learners, and working closely with employers to ensure the effective development of knowledge, skills and behaviours in line with relevant standards.
Key Responsibilities
- To plan, conduct and participate in induction and initial assessment of learners to identify realistic learning priorities and, in liaison with the employer, develop individual learning plans and agree realistic completion targets. This will include ensuring that employers have a full understanding of the requirement for Apprentices to complete off the job training.
- To provide information, advice and guidance to learners and employers to promote learning and timely achievement of the agreed learning aims and SMART objectives.
- Assessment of knowledge, skills and behaviours, and the delivery and assessment of Functional Skills and competencies within the NVQ programme.
- To maintain a minimum caseload of learners. Assist them to achieve NVQ qualifications and the Apprenticeship Standard and prepare them for End Point Assessment.
- Promote positive attitudes to diversity through your training and assessment practice.
Qualifications
- Level 3 Electrical Installation – Essential
- Qualified Electrician – Essential
- English and Maths GCSE grade 4 or above- or equivalent – Essential
- TAQA or A1 assessor qualification, or willing to work towards – Desirable
- Teaching qualification, or willing to work towards – Desirable.
- Award in Internal Verification or V1, or willing to work towards – Desirable.
Experience
- Practical occupational experience as required by Code of Practice and relevant awarding bodies.
- Experience of working in a commercial and industrial setting.
- Proven track record of consistently achieving performance targets.
- Proven track record of imparting skills and learning to others.
Knowledge & Skills
- Qualified Electrician
- Electrical Engineering Experience – Desirable.
- Empathy with young people.
- Desire to assist learners achieve their career and learning aspirations.
