Full job description

As a Product Image Assistant, you’ll help standardise and optimise product images so that every product displayed on our website looks clean, consistent and professional.

You’ll work from a clear Margo’s image-production guide, so you won’t be expected to invent a new style for every image.Your job will be to apply the standard accurately and consistently.

What You’ll Be Doing

Cropping and resizing product images to our required dimensions
Centring and scaling products consistently
Standardising image backgrounds and spacing
Making basic exposure, brightness and colour corrections
Removing minor marks, distractions or unwanted background elements
Maintaining accurate product colours
Preparing images for use on our e-commerce website
Compressing and optimising images for web performance
Exporting images in the required formats
Renaming and organising image files according to our naming system
Checking completed images against our quality-control checklist
Organising finished assets into the correct product folders
Helping prepare complete image sets for individual products

The Ideal Candidates

You do not need years of professional experience.

This role may suit you if you are currently studying or interested in:

E-commerce

Fashion or beauty

More importantly, we’re looking for someone who:

Has excellent attention to detail
Notices when things are slightly misaligned or inconsistent
Can follow detailed instructions accurately
Is comfortable working with repetitive production tasks
Takes pride in producing neat, polished work
Can organise digital files properly
Is reliable and able to work independently
Is willing to learn and work to our image standards

What You'll Gain

This is intended to be practical experience rather than observational work.

You’ll have the opportunity to:

Work on the launch of a new beauty brand
Build real e-commerce production experience
Develop product-image editing and optimisation skills
Learn how commercial image libraries are organised
Understand visual consistency across an online store
Build examples of commercial work for your portfolio, where permitted
Potentially take on additional e-commerce and content responsibilities as Margo’s grows

Strong performers may also have opportunities to progress into areas such as product uploads, e-commerce content, digital asset management, website merchandising and creative production.

Work Location

This is a flexible hybrid placement. Students will have access to our Milton Keynes workspace but will also be able to work from home where the tasks they are completing can be carried out remotely.

We want to provide students with the flexibility of remote working while still giving them the opportunity to collaborate with the team, receive support and gain experience working within a startup environment.

Pay: £13.50 per hour
Location: Milton Keynes / Work From Home
Working arrangement: Hybrid and flexible
Office attendance: Required on agreed team/collaboration days
Remote working: Available for suitable tasks
