Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Fire Door Joiner to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of fire-rated doors, ensuring they meet safety and regulatory standards. This role requires attention to detail, expertise in joinery, and a thorough understanding of fire door safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Installation: Fit fire doors in accordance with fire safety regulations and manufacturer specifications.
- Maintenance & Repairs: Maintain and repair fire doors, ensuring they operate correctly and are free from defects that could compromise their fire safety performance.
- Compliance: Ensure all fire doors meet legal and regulatory standards, including proper certification, fire ratings, and quality checks.
- Inspection: Conduct regular inspections of existing fire doors, reporting any faults or issues to the supervisor.
- Finish and Aesthetics: Ensure fire doors are finished to a high standard, maintaining a professional appearance while meeting safety requirements.
- Documentation: Keep accurate records of installation, inspections, and maintenance activities.
- Collaboration: Work closely with construction teams, contractors, and other trades to ensure fire doors are properly integrated into the overall building design.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a joiner or carpenter, with specific experience in installing and maintaining fire doors.
- Knowledge of fire safety regulations, particularly the requirements for fire doors.
- Strong understanding of door hardware, including locks, hinges, and seals.
- Ability to read technical drawings and specifications.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ in Carpentry, Fire Door Installation Certification) are desirable
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position with the possibility of overtime.
- Work may involve site visits, manual labor, and the use of power tools.
- PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) will be provided.
- Company Van and fuel card will be provided

Pay: £24.00-£28.00 per hour
