The Role
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Part-Time Caretaker/Cleaner to join our dedicated team.
This is a key role in ensuring that our school premises are clean, well-maintained, and safe for pupils, staff, and visitors.
The successful candidate will take pride in their work and support the school’s Christian ethos through diligence, care, and a servant-hearted attitude.
Start Date: 3rd November 2025
Hours: Part-time (approximately 20 hours per week, term-time plus occasional holiday work)
Salary: Dependent on experience
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out general cleaning duties across classrooms, offices, toilets, and communal areas.
- Ensure the building is clean, tidy, and ready for daily use.
- Perform basic maintenance, repairs, and checks to maintain safety and functionality.
- Open and secure the building at designated times (morning/evening).
- Monitor stock of cleaning materials and inform management when supplies need replenishing.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and COSHH regulations.
- Support with setting up rooms for school events, assemblies, and meetings.
- Work collaboratively with staff to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the school site.
Person Specification
Essential:
- Previous experience in cleaning or caretaking work.
- Strong attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
- Commitment to safeguarding and maintaining a safe environment for children.
- Respect for and willingness to support the Christian ethos of the school.
Desirable:
- Basic maintenance or handyman skills.
- Experience in a school or similar environment.
- First Aid or Health & Safety training (training can be provided).
