We are seeking a Senior Cancer MDT Coordinator to lead and develop our team of MDT Coordinators, supporting cancer services across multiple tumour sites.
Each cancer tumour site is supported by a dedicated team of clinical specialists who form the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT). In this pivotal role, you will take overall responsibility for coordinating the administrative function of these MDTs, ensuring patients with suspected or confirmed cancer are proactively tracked throughout their pathway from referral through to treatment.
As a senior member of the team, you will line manage a group of MDT Coordinators while retaining responsibility for coordinating one tumour site yourself. You will oversee the day-to-day operation of the MDT Coordinator service, including workload management, responding to complex queries, coordinating annual leave and service cover, supporting recruitment, induction and training of new staff, and driving continuous service improvement.

Key areas of responsibility includes:
To develop specialist knowledge of their assigned cancer site.
Prepare the lists of patients for discussion at each cancer weekly multidisciplinary (MDT) meetings, requiring communication with cancer service managers, medical secretaries, cancer site lead consultant, surgeons, histopathologists, radiologists, cancer nurse specialists, physicians, oncologists, surgical admissions, medical records and x-ray library
Be responsible for maintaining MDT attendance records, highlighting issues which may impact on compliance with the national MDT standards
